Polio vaccine needs to be administered even if the whole country is free of Polio. 2main reasons :a) to improve and maintain herd immunity for some more generations b) our neighbouring countries Pakistan and Afghanistan still report active cases of Polio and not able to achieve hundred percent vaccines coverage. Cross over is a well documented event and hence pulse Polio is needed to consolidate the gains that India achieved and to prevent sporadic cases causing fresh epidemics. So please immunize children even if they are already immunized. Many scholarly articles are available on this subject
